A mouse makes a house out of a huge block of cheese. Eating and carving it out from the inside and the outside, it has vast rooms and pleasing architecture.
The catch is that it was the only block of available cheese. As the days pass by, the perfected house just feels empty and more delicious. Playing with self control, the mouse starts to eat away the decor extensions, then the furniture extensions, then one unused room at a time. It reaches a point where there are 2 cubic rooms with thin walls and nothing else left.
The mouse has nowhere else to stay, no hole, no burrow. Practicing self control, one room gets eaten in a week. It’s now just an obese mouse living in a tiny room.
Looking at the tiny block, the human throws it into the trash, oblivious to the mouse inside.
